The City of Howard is seeking a full-time Utility worker to join our team. All City employees must cross-train in all City departments. This is an hourly position and requires the employee to work every 3 rd weekend and holiday on a set rotating schedule. The starting wage is $18. Employees must live within 15 minutes of Howard. Experience with machinery operation and maintenance is preferred. Full-time employee benefits include KPERS, optional health insurance, 9 paid holidays, paid vacation and sick time. Howard City Council meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 7:30 pm at the Howard City Office 110 N Pine. Dates may be rescheduled as needed
Your City bills can be paid from your bank account on the 10th of every month. There is no charge for this service. We must have a signed form on file. You will still get a copy of your bill as usual. Call or come in the office for details!
Please remember that our city gas and water meters are read near the 15th of each month, so your bill due Sept 10 is paying for your utilities from about the 16th of July to the 15th of August.
We are receiving an increase in reports of dogs running loose. Dogs will be impounded and we have to follow all the State required steps to get them released.
City of Howard recently received notice that we are approved for the Spring 2021 IKE Cost Share Program.
With summer, comes great times outdoors, but safety is important. ATVs UTVs and Golf Carts are allowed on the City of Howard streets & alleys, but there are restrictions:
